Building Your Financial Future Through Smart Investing

We started Qrestex because the world of investing felt unnecessarily complicated. Too much jargon, too many conflicting opinions, and honestly — not enough straight talk about what actually works when you're building wealth over time.

How We Got Here

From a small group meeting in 2019 to serving investors across Canada, our path has been shaped by real experience.

1

2019 — The Beginning

Started with informal meetups in Stoney Creek. Just five people sharing investment experiences over coffee. We realized that most educational resources either oversimplified things or made them impossibly complex.

2

2021 — First Structured Program

Launched our foundational course after two years of testing different teaching approaches. Focused on portfolio construction basics and risk management — the stuff that actually matters when markets get choppy.

3

2023 — Expanded Curriculum

Added specialized tracks based on what participants kept asking about. Tax-efficient investing, retirement planning strategies, and understanding market cycles became core components of our program.

4

2025 — What's Next

We're developing new content around emerging investment vehicles and adapting to changing market conditions. Our next cohort starts September 2025, with updated material reflecting current economic realities.

What Guides Our Work

These aren't just words on a wall. They're principles that shape how we teach, what we prioritize, and how we interact with every person who joins our programs.

Clarity Over Complexity

We break down investing concepts into understandable pieces. Not because the topics are simple — they're not — but because confusion doesn't help anyone make better decisions. When a concept genuinely is complex, we say so and work through it systematically.

Long-Term Perspective

Markets move fast, but wealth building doesn't. We teach strategies that hold up over decades, not days. That means focusing on fundamentals, understanding risk, and developing patience — which might be the most valuable skill in investing.

Real Experience

Our instructors have been through market corrections, economic uncertainties, and portfolio drawdowns. They've made mistakes and learned from them. That lived experience shows up in how we teach — acknowledging what's difficult and sharing what actually worked.

Practical Application

Theory matters, but application matters more. Every concept we cover includes real-world examples and practical exercises. You'll work with actual scenarios, analyze real portfolios, and develop skills you can use immediately in your own financial planning.

How We Teach Differently

Most investment education falls into two camps: either it's so basic it's useless, or it's aimed at people who already work in finance. We found a middle path that actually works for regular investors.

Our approach combines structured learning with flexibility. You'll work through core concepts everyone needs to understand, but you can also dig deeper into areas that matter most for your situation.

  • Start with portfolio fundamentals and asset allocation principles
  • Move into risk assessment and management strategies that fit different life stages
  • Cover tax implications and efficient account structures for Canadian investors
  • Explore market analysis without getting lost in technical indicators
  • Develop a personal investment plan that reflects your actual goals and timeline

We keep groups intentionally small. Twelve people per cohort, maximum. That way, you're not just another face in a webinar. You can ask questions, work through your specific situations, and get feedback that's actually relevant.

Who's Teaching

Our instructors bring different backgrounds and perspectives, but they share one thing: they've all built their own investment portfolios and learned through actual market experience.

Petra Lundqvist

Lead Instructor, Portfolio Strategy

Petra's been managing her own portfolio for eighteen years and started teaching after friends kept asking for advice. She focuses on asset allocation and helping people understand their actual risk tolerance — which is often different from what they think it is.

Siobhan Keaveney instructor portrait

Instructor, Tax-Efficient Investing

Siobhan spent a decade in tax consulting before shifting to investment education. She makes Canadian tax strategy actually understandable, which is no small feat. Her specialty is helping people structure their accounts to keep more of what they earn.
