How We Got Here
Back in early 2019, our founder Elspeth Viklund spent three years working in financial services. She noticed something frustrating—clients often made decisions based on incomplete information or misunderstood advice. Not because they weren't smart, but because nobody took the time to actually explain things properly.
After leaving that job, she started running small workshops from a shared office space in Stoney Creek. The goal was simple: teach people the fundamentals of investing without the pressure to buy anything. Those first sessions had maybe six or seven people. They asked great questions. Real questions about risk, diversification, and how to think about their goals.
Word spread quietly. By late 2020, we were running monthly sessions with around thirty participants. In 2021, we moved online and started developing more structured programs. Today, we work with people across Canada who want to understand investing on their own terms.
We're not trying to manage anyone's money or sell financial products. Our focus stays on education—helping people build knowledge so they can navigate their financial decisions with confidence.
